TYPES OF SUBMISSIONS
FARU 2021, 14th International Research Conference accepts the following types of submissions:

Research Papers:
A paper should contain a completed research, the description of your study and should be structured in different sections such as: Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Conclusions, Acknowledgements (if applicable) and References. The full paper should be limited to 10-12 pages including figures, tables and references (papers exceeding this page number will be rejected). If the paper is selected after the review process, the author is expected to revise the paper according to comments by the reviewers and submit the print-ready paper. If the authors wish to apply for the FARU Awards, you may do so by submitting the FARU Awards Submission form.

Poster Abstracts:
The poster abstract may include completed research, interim findings of ongoing research, proposed research or literature reviews relevant to the conference theme. This extended abstract should describe the study and should be structured in different sections such as Introduction, Methodology, Results, Conclusions, Acknowledgements (if applicable) and References. Abstract should be limited to 2-3 pages including references. If the poster abstract is selected after the review process, the author is expected to amend the abstract according to comments given by the reviewers and resubmit the abstract with the poster. If the authors wish to apply for the FARU Awards, you may do so by submitting the FARU Awards Submission form.

Poster Submission:
*This section is applicable only to the selected poster abstract. Posters should include a good combination of words, pictures, and graphics. They should include the results and conclusions of the papers, but authors are suggested to be refrained from including too much text in it as the final poster format includes a 300 word abstract.
*only if your poster abstract is selected after the review process you have the opportunity to submit the poster.

FARU AUTHOR GUIDELINES
The guidelines for the FARU Conference and the FARU Journal are the same, yet only the highly commended papers gets selected for the FARU Journal. FARU carries out a double-blind review process by three reviewers on the basis of originality, clarity, completeness, relevance and significance to the field of study and the conference theme. The initial review process takes nearly two months and the authors are notified of the final comment together with reviewer comments.

The authors are informed on the selection of the paper to the FARU Journal and/or to the FARU Conference. All selected papers for both FARU Journal and FARU Conference must present at the Annual FARU Conference to gain eligibility for publication.

How to Submit Research Paper
Papers are invited to be submitted for a double-blind peer-review process. The full paper should be prepared according to the FARU full paper template and must be limited to 10-12 pages including figures, tables and references. The steps of the submission process is as follows:

  • Do not include the author details in the full paper
  • Submit the full paper via Sri Lanka Journals Online

  • Step 1
    Login to https://faruj.sljol.info/
    Step 2
    Register yourself (if not registered as an author)
    Step 3
    Submit the paper (Author>submission>Submit an article)
    Step 4
    Await Reviewer’s comments and the notification of decision
    Step 5
    All accepted papers will proceed further as follows:

    Notification of decision:
    If selected with minor/major revision;

  • FARU Journal Vol.8 - Only the high ranked papers (based on reviewers’ comments and the editorial board’s approval) will be published in the FARU Journal Vol. 8 bearing ISSN 20126301. All selected papers will be provided with a Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
  • FARU 2021 Conference Proceedings - the remainder will be published here with an ISBN number (as hard and softcopy). All selected papers will be provided with a Digital Object Identifier (DOI).

  • Step 6
    Submit the revised Print-Ready paper to be published via FARU Journal or FARU 2021 Conference Proceedings.
    Step 7
    Submit the Conference registration form and proof of payment via email to faru@uom.lk with the email subject ‘Registration fee_(corresponding author) surname_first name’.
    Step 8
    Prepare to presentation at the conference

    Important Note:
    Only the authors registered and presented at the conference will be published.

    HOW TO SUBMIT POSTER ABSTRACT
    Posters are invited to be submitted for a double-blind review process by an expert. The extended abstract should be prepared according to the FARU poster abstract template FARU poster abstract template and must be limited to 2-3 pages including references. The steps of the submission process is as follows:

  • Do not include the author details in the Extended Poster Abstract
  • Submit the Extended Poster Abstract via FARU website

  • Step 1
    Use the FARU poster abstract template and prepare the submission
    Step 2
    Do not include the author details with the abstract
    Step 3
    Submit your Extended Poster Abstract via email to faru@uom.lk with the email subject ‘Poster Abstract Submission_(corresponding author) surname_first name’.
    Step 4
    Await reviewer comments and the notification of decision
    Step 5
    If the Extended Poster Abstract is selected, you are to prepare the poster according to the FARU poster format.
    Step 6
    Submit the revised Print-Ready poster abstract and the Final Print-ready poster that will be published via FARU 2021 Conference Proceedings.
    Step 7
    Submit the Conference registration form and proof of payment via email to faru@uom.lk with the email subject ‘Registration fee_(corresponding author) surname_first name’.
    Step 8
    Attend the conference to witness your poster displayed virtually.

    PRESENTATIONS AND FARU AWARDS
    All selected authors will be notified via email on how to prepare for presentation.
    The following presentation formats will be possible at the conference:

    ● Research Paper Presentations:
    In-person Presentation:10 minutes per presentation with 5 minutes of questions
    Video presentations: 10 minutes per presentation with 5 minutes of questions. This may be pre-recorded

    ● Poster Presentations:
    Posters will be exhibited in the virtual exhibition room and authors will be available for questions via Chat at the allocated time duration

    FARU Awards
    All selected papers and posters are eligible to be applied for FARU AWARDS 2021. To proceed, you must fill the ‘FARU Awards Submission form. and email to faru@uom.lk under the subject of . All winners will be awarded with a certificate at the awarding ceremony of the FARU 2021 14th International Research Conference.
    To be included in the FARU Awards, please submit on or before the 31 October 2021
